COMPACT, WITH MINIMAL OFFSET FOR CONFIDENT BALL-STRIKERS SEEKING MAXIMUM BALL SPEED.

Introducing Nickel Chromoly – A new material with so much additional ball speed, our engineers switched their focus to feel and stopping power. At 35% stronger than our original Hot Metal material, 4335 Nickel Chromoly enables a high-energy 8% thinner clubface. Combined with Mizuno’s vibration controlling V-Chassis and deep CG design, the JPX923 Hot Metal irons are as enjoyable and controllable as they are long. The Pro model is more compact, with minimal offset for confident ball-strikers seeking maximum ball speed.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

  • Harmonic Impact Technology: Fine tuned head geometry delivers ideal impact feel and feedback
  • Seamless Cup Face: Thinned areas revolving 360 degrees around the perimeter increase rebound area for maximum ball speed across the entire face
  • CORTECH Design: Optimized face thickness distribution to maximize COR AREA
  • Variable Sole Thickness: Increase overall face flex area for add CORAREA
  • Acoustic Sound Ribs: Precisely dial in specific vibration patterns for a solid, explosive impact sound
  • Beveled Trailing Edge: Aggressive relief on the trailing edge for reduced turf drag
  • 4335 Nickel Chromoly: 4335 Nickel Chromoly is 20% stronger, allowing for an 8% reduction in face thickness, resulting in higher ball speeds.
  • V-Chassis: Engineered via Mizuno's Harmonic Impact Technology, the V-Chassis allows the top line to be thinner without sacrificing feel and sound.
  • White Satin Brush Finish: A modern elegant, yet durable non-glare finish

Too hot?

Played mizuno blades for 30 years, just love them. Time for a new set but bought the hot metal pro 8 iron as a test club. Nice clean simple look, minimal offset, good sound, flight and distance. With modern lofts the 8 iron goes further and higher than my current 6 iron which is fine. My only concern with the hot metal is consistent control of distance (which is what you want from irons). The difference between well struck and slight mishit can be 20+ yards with this 8 iron. A similar mishit at the moment my be 5-10 yards. So the ego boost from the distance is great but I'm undecided about the hot metal, I fear controlling distance on 3/4 shots and slight mishits. Beautiful club, but I'll probably stick to true blades for my new set.

Nice looking irons and hot!

These are real nice looking irons and although I just got them I think they will improve my game. So far they go about 6 yards further than my old ones. The length of the iron head is more compact than most game improvement clubs but so far that is not a problem and I like it. I ordered the 7 iron several months ago to try it out before springing for the full set with senior graphite shafts. The 7 iron shows virtually no wear…not even from clubs rattling in the bag. Must be the hard metal alloy. I don’t know about you but I do not like looking at marked up club heads. Took a long time to get…minus 1 star.
